A new group

Ok, we have to constitute a new group! Giula and Theau came to the Drôme to see if they like this region. And the answer is yes they like it here (of course, I think everybody would like it here :p). But they are attached to their territory in the North. And me, I abandoned my North to find the sun and the mountains and I don’t have the plans to return… But we have to say “it’s ok”, it means that soon there will be two new collective farms.

We just need to continue, keeping motivated. How? That’s often the question. The collective factor makes our installation even more difficult.  Meaning that not only between us we need to agree and ready (with our ideas, files, money, the place, the motivation…) but a whole group needs to be synchronized. First we need a group so let’s find new cool people with the same approach as us.

We changed the about page and opened our eyes in the small network we build in the Drôme. We still want to be four for the goats and two or three for other activities. Maybe Sandra and François want to form a new group with us? She goats, he arboriculture/vegetables, two nice people.

Next to all that we continue to visit farms for inspiration. We did a small replacement on a super nice goat/tourism farm. About forty goats, some huts and a small house for rent, in a beautiful place: gorges d’Omblèze. There are places like that here in the Drôme: with big cliffs and ravines. It makes me dream.

In April I will follow a cheese course in “Pradel” (Ardèche) to improve myself in cheese making. A course that is financed by an agricultural fund VIVEA  and Pôle-Emploi. They finance even my accommodation and my food during these two weeks! I find that weird but pretty cool.

Mathieu works in the Web development three days a week. Ideally, he would like to find a part-time job on a farm, to keep connected to the agricultural world and to maintain his muscles :p. I’m still looking for a job and it’s very annoying! I spend hours looking for vacancies and sending motivation letters. Well, lost time … I think I have to create my own job: maybe a goat farm?

To finish, we live in a shared house in Grâne. Very nice, with four funny people, chickens, a dog, a cat and a magnificent view of the mountains. It feels good to settle for a few months. But the adventure goes on…
