We saw OUR goats! Wow! Suddenly it accelerates: good discussions with our future partners, the first administrative procedures and a visit to the farm where we will buy our little goats. We went a week to Mosset, in the Pyrenees Orientales. The start!
We talked about the land that Julie has been looking for since two years. Little by little, she found 90 ha, some in property, others in lease or grazing agreement, others to buy. We heard all the gossip of the village, and it is a lot for a small village of 300 inhabitants! Especially when you are looking for land … It remains a sensitive property and not easy for newcomers to acquire.
We talked about all the other important subjects: the herd, the livestock buildings and the cheese making room, our planning, the statutes, the administrative procedures (a big part), …
Moving to Mosset the first of March, the goats are coming mid-March … In the meantime, working on the business plan, permits for the construction of a tunnel for the herd and the start of the ADI (endowment for young farmers, European aid to start a farm, great but a lot of work).
